This adorable 17 inch tall fluffy dark brown Mohair Zotty bear is made by Hermann, a well known German teddy bear maker not commonly seen here in the USA. He has brown eyes, a brown horizontally stitched nose, a stitched mouth that is open, felt paws, and is five way fully jointed. He has a white patch of fur on his chest and around his neck. He stands 17 inches (42 cm) tall standing and 13 (33 cm)inches while sitting. He has his original gold chain in excellent condition around his neck. His head and body are firmly stuffed. He was bought in the 1980s by our Mother and stored all these years with her other collectible bears - this German bear is looking for a new owner to love and care for him.
He has a red plastic chest tag on a gold string attached to his chest which says "HERMANN Teddy ORIGINAL". On his right arm he has a sewn-in white cloth tag with green lettering that says "HERMANN-Teddy-Original, Made in West Germany, Outer Covering 70% acrylic 30% modacrylic. I believe this bear might be model #90-42.
He is adorable, and in excellent condition! His squeaker works fine when you press it. There are no holes, no stains and no wear on his mohair! He has never been played with or displayed. He comes from a smoke free, pet free environment.
From my Ebay, Amazon, and web searches, these Hermann Zotty bears are not easy to find. Not many were found on either Ebay or Amazon. To find one in such good condition is a real treasure! He would be a great addition to your Hermann or German mohair collection or would make a wonderful gift for a collector.
