Lovely Spode COLONEL JADE Y7131 Green Cup & Saucer

Spode produced the Colonel bone china pattern in a variety of colors and trims. This is a rather hard to find version. It is called Colonel Jade Y7131. It has also been nicknamed light green. Be sure to check numbers if you are trying to match pieces. The swirling design motif is described in vintage Spode catalogs as being an ancient Persian design that was also used by Renaissance monks to illustrate manuscripts. It is particularly effective on the swirled Chelsea shape. The registry number indicates that it was registered between 1902 and 1903. It has gold trim. The cup is 2” tall with a 3 7/8” in diameter at the rim. The saucer is 5 1/2” wide. The set is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or wear to the gold trim.
